CARNATION equals blistering and crushing death metal madness and, with this new chapter, return with relentless destruction and greater punishment than ever before. CARNATION was formed in 2013 by guitar player Jonathan Verstrepen as an homage to the old school death metal legends from the eighties and early nineties. Vocalist Simon Duson, bass player Yarne Heylen, guitar player Bert Vervoort, and drummer Vincent Verstrepen were summoned to complete the band.

The release of the debut EP “Cemetery of the Insane” in 2015, and the infamous live EP “Live At Asakusa Deathfest” in 2017, laid the foundation for great things to come. These two releases, combined with their reputation as a notoriously impressive live act, drew the attention of fans worldwide and provided CARNATION with the opportunity to tour in Brazil with PESTILENCE and Japan, and to carve their name deeper into the European underground.

CARNATION has released three full length albums that map the band’s rise and evolution. “Chapel of Abhorrence” landed in 2018, “Where Death Lies” followed in 2020, and “Cursed Mortality” struck in 2023, refining the band’s sound into something even more recognizable and vicious. These releases were promoted extensively by tours in Europe with PUNGENT STENCH, DESERTED FEAR, PESTILENCE, DECAPITATED, and CRYPTOPSY, and countless nights of pure devastation.

Built for the stage, CARNATION has also delivered main support shows for bands such as CANNIBAL CORPSE, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, DECAPITATED, I AM MORBID and CARCASS and has brought the punishment to Graspop, Hellfest, Summer Breeze,... and the legendary 70.000 Tons of Metal cruise, turning every show into a violent celebration of death metal the way it is meant to be.
